What i find all rather furstrating about the present situation

And maybe i'm being a bit naive but its the fact that we've waited so long for a sniff of significant investment yet it potentially comes along it immediately looks like descending into a long and drawn out power struggle.

I acknowledge that we have no real idea what is happening behind the scenes but that statement last night was in my eyes defensive. It may be technically and legally correct but it is not the response I would hope to see from a board actively seeking investment. if anything banding fgures about like that would be likely to put most investors off.

I don't expect Delia and MWJ to give away their shares for nothing but the fact of the matter is that if they are serious about being prepared to step aside for the right investor and Cullum is serious about helping out there would be ways and means of structuring a deal that could see him get involved with a majority shareholding and provided he reached agreement with the banks and the other major shareholders (who would not have to accept any "offer" he might have to make) which would surely not involve anything like ?56 million having to actually be put in. Ok he may have to show he is good for it if necessary to satisfy the banks and the City rules but that is not the same as saying he would actually have to pay it out.

Many people have pointed to the fact that both the article and the statement are the opening salvo's in a "negotiation" but i guess my point is that if all concerned mean what they say there shoudln't need to be a long and hard fought negotiation. Cullum should make sure Delia and MWJ get back what they have put in to the club and in return they and the rest of the directors should do what they can to facilitiate a deal not start bading about figures likely to scare any investor off.

If this goes on for months and we miss out on the opportunity to bring in players this summer with the money i will be very disappointed.

On a brighter note though hopefully today will see one or two more players brought in and maybe some other interesting bits of news. After all according to all the rumours july 1st was always going to be a significant day.
