You may understand law

but you clearly missed the politics lecture. MPs are elected to do their best for the whole community, not the Sun newspaper, or the Daily Wail. Some of us rather like being in Europe, the whole ideal, and those MPs need to represent us too. Thus they have to make their own decisions, based on what they know and how they are advised, to do a sophisticated form of fence sitting. However, when the choice is yes or no, and abstaining makes you look like a LibDem, I am glad for them to try to make the best decision for the herd. And that is to go with the EU, not constantly rail against it.
