Possibly so, possibly not

Watching the PNE game I was aware of how little we tried to play passing football. Thing is, if I were in charge of a team that's only played a handful of friendlies, I'd be stressing to the players that until they all read each other completely, results would need to be more important than style. I'd have said "No pretty stuff, just keep it tight across the middle and get the ball forward as quickly as possible".

And then I'd work on tactics at Colney. I think things may continue to be a bit tedious for a few months yet - and in the meantime I'll settle for keeping things tight. Dull maybe but better than being on the end of a few tonkings.
