but I really don't think we've come very far under Grant. What worries me especially is our tactical ineptitude. We roundly criticised Worthington for his tactical naivety but what do we have instead?
Grant seems very good at shouting and waving his arms around whilst carrying a piece of paper but the effect of that is a total lack of creativity and an appalling failure to bring about any real improvement in our defending.
Basically he talks crap - 'Dion brings another dimension to the group. I don't want us to be one-dimensional.' Too late mate!
I fear (and yes I hope I'm wrong) that we have got ourselves another tactical turkey. When we're finally fed up with him after three years or so he will leave his successor a mid to low table side whose main characteristic will be that it has more Scots than any other team south of the border, and probably quite a few north of it, too!
As somebody said the other day watching Ipswich play very good football with far fewer resources is galling to say the least. We scraped a draw at Preston, Colchester played them off the park. We were lucky against Saints and lost to a very ordinary Hull. The signs are not good.
Appointing a new manager (every 5 years or so at Norwich) is a priceless opportunity to shape the future of a club and I reckon we blew it by going for (cheap) inexperience.
