Yup, signed crap players

The crucial moment in the Worthington era was the summer we went down. We'd just had a season in the prem; we had 2 years of parachute payments to look forward to; this was the absolutely pivotal transfer period in which to strengthen our squad. We were screaming out for a new-look midfield with the disappearance of Holt, Francis and Bentley.

This is what we got that summer:

Andy Hughes, July 2005 – 500k
Jurgen Colin, July 2005 – 263k

After the DISASTER of Hooves and the Case of the Missing Midfield became apparent, this is what Worthy did to "strengthen" us (these being transfers after loan periods):-

Carl Robinson, Jan 2006 – 50k [FIRST AND ONLY TRANSFER FEE EVER PAID FOR ROBINSON]
Etuhu, Jan 2006 – 450k

So yes, signed crap players.
