How do you know it's overheating? Or is it just crashing for no apparent reason?
If it really is heat then you may need to replace the fan. Or open it up and clean out the dust that's inevitably gathered - especially round cooling vents. Also, if you can, make sure there's space round the machine for air to move. Bad idea to cover it with papers, etc. Or to place it directly on a carpet.
