Well that's the whole point isn't it? I keep banging on about this but it simply isn't sufficient just to change Foley, and Webb, and Worthington.
Take the Academy - why is it not producing players? Is it the geographical restrictions - in which case should we withdraw from the system? Or is it that Worthington placed no faith in youth? The whole Academy thing was the brainchild of a grocer - I don't see why it should have sacred cow status.
And the board's policy relating to transfers - which seems unique to us - has to change. Think back to Derveld. He had already been trialled, and rejected, so why on earth did the board just nod that signing through? They have not learnt from past mistakes, and their refusal even to consider means they never will.
