I'm sure we are both genuine supporters and therefore I assume we both want long-term success for our club.
I have been around long enough to have seen good and bad times at City but generally I have been proud to support a team long associated with playing good football, whose players go about things in the right way. This explains why City are held in high regard by the supporters of many other clubs (unlike, say, Millwall, Leeds, Wolves etc.) Recently, however, the supporters of clubs we visit say that we are among the worst teams they have seen at their grounds and nobody wants to come and play for us!
Recently we have seen (and are still seeing) some of the worst players to have worn the yellow and green in living memory. Of course we have the right to boo the players! How else can we register our disapproval?
Blindly following and cheering poor performances is what has got us into this situation. It is rubbish to say 'No true supporter would ever boo the team' It is exactly because we are true supporters that we care enough to register our disapproval. I could just as easily say 'No true supporter would stand back and make positive comments about the poor quality of football we have been offered for two years.'
Norwich City teams are currently failing to play football to the standard that is required of them by fans who have come to expect better, the current players are failing to do basic things properly. We not only have the right to boo them but it is our duty to do so!
(And I do go to games!)
