Huckerby on his day is a great player. But when he's not, or in a huff, or injured? For a 31 year old whose losing his pace and demands a team shape built around him, a 2-year contract at ?5-?6k pw is pretty bloody generous!

Say he leaves; there's at least ?500k p.a. saved, including the likely wages of his replacement! Thorne and Hooves, I shudder to think how much we're paying them but I suspect there's at least a similar saving to be made there. And after that there's a only another ?6m to find...
