Just got back. Missed Cardiff so first game I've seen under Grant.
Bit of an odd formation and all round performance, absolutely no width on the right in first half, as Robinson kept going too narrow, except when Colin made it, but this jus dragged Doc out of position each time Colchester won the ball back. No one seemed to want to give Eagle the ball, not sure why. His delivery looked good but I think the lack of the ball badly damaged his confidence when he did get it. Not too sure what sense there was in starting Hucks and Earnshaw up front other than to accomodate Eagle.
Says something when a 37 yr old comes on for the last 25 mins and is in my opinion man of the match, He was by far and away the best player on the pitch and looked like he wanted the ball. He clearly still win the ball not just in the air but on the ground too. Should have started tonight, must start Saturday!
Also there only appeared to be 3 players out of 11 on the pitch who should definitely be there, Hucks, Earnie and Dickson. Colin and Drury would benefit from playing with better players and clearly are capable in my opinion. Then as I said you have Dublin who is hardly the long term future but good enough for now, and then Croft who's injured. The rest in my opinion are complete dross and should somehow be shipped out as soon as possible. Easier said than done of course.
Finally "Ref you're a disgrace!"
As you were.
