Dublin's performance highlighted the naivety and inexperience of Grant. He didnt nothing wrong whatsoever today. Had a totally hopeless task.
Of what I've seen he can be very effective when used in short spells AND 100% with a partner upfront. There is no way with his style of play/age/fitness that you'll get anything with him up top on his own. More of Grants naivety was shown in moving around Doherty after two very solid displays in the league. If Eagle impressed the other night and he had to play this sort of 4-1-4-1 then put a Hughes in that Role, drop Fleming and put Eagle on the left - no?
Agree about Ashdown. He looks awful. Poor at communicating with the defence and awful distribution. I've always thought he looked very unreliable. Was pleased when he got sent off.
We've known Fleming was s**t for a long time.
What makes me laugh is people rant on about how good our team is on paper. This is utter bollocks. I'd say that of the team that started today...Drury and Etuhu are worth their places. The likes of Doherty and Colin can be very good but are so unreliable. The rest of the team is rank average.
I just dont get the love shown for Lee Croft. He's so clumsy on the ball and never looks like he has the ball under control. He does graft and work hard though.
Today was worse than any Worthington performance I ever saw because aswell as showing all the usual poor qualities we suprisingly created nothing (no doubt because of no Earnshaw/Hucks). Now dont get me wrong, Worthington had to go, but he had to go because after 6 years he had gone full circle s**t to good to s**t again.
I am still sure Grant can do a job but he needs to be given money to turn this into his own team because so many players arent up to the job.
I'd of given you 1000-1 if somebody said Stoke would win 5-0 after seeing the first 10 minutes and what they had to offer but then this is Norwich City and nothing suprises me anymore.
