I'm on 10.3.9, so Safari is stuck at 1.3.2 and I would have to upgrade the whole OS to get the latest goodies. Or use FireFox or Camino. Another problem is the Java support; stuck on 1.4 unless I upgrade the OS ... This is a bit more understandable as Apple implement their own version so that it is compatible with Aqua. And it's a good thing in my opinion - it's perfectly possible (if a bit more costly) to develop good web sites/applications for cross-platform use - just follow standards!
