Although the tide may be turning... 2 years ago 93% of people used IE, now it's down to 86%. If that gets down to 75% then internet companies will start to take notice.
FF2 was released today to coincide with IE7.
I myself work for a company that makes student records software for universities, including a web portal for self-service for adminstrators, academics, students and other stakeholders, and we have to test and support multiple platforms - we generally test in IE, Firefox and Safari, on Windows and Mac systems.
We're a bit different though, as we are selling to the public sector, and the public sector has to ensure that users have maximum accessibility - including making web pages readable by "screen-reading" software, something to do with the disability discrimination act.
But private sector companies don't really have to give a s**t in general.
