If Hoddle was put in charge however, is the risk too great? High wages, how long will he stay?, how much money will he squeeze out of the board?
the other problem is that if you get Hoddle, then its promotion or "well we have blown it, we are Championship fodder for the forseeable future". Whereas fans will have more paitence with a lesser known manager, like they had with Worthington.
Teams get promoted, we were not the strongest squad by far when we won the league. I don't think Hoddle makes great teams, he attracts big names, but I don't think we need that. Penny has proved he can get a team together and win leagues. Thats why I believe a manager like Penny is preferable over Hoddle.
