You're right this time.

It is *very* counterintuitive.
Basically, in order to win if you stick, you need to select the money box, which you will do 1/3 of the time. To win if you switch, you must select an empty box first which you will do 2/3 of the time.
Therefore you should always switch.
It's called the Monty Hall Problem.
