You should change.
Say there's a 1 in 3 chance of it being in any single box, you pick box A. There's a 2 in 3 chance that it's in either B or C.
2 in 3 is a better bet than 1 in 3, so you should change as there is effectively a 2 in 3 chance that it is in the single remaining box, as the opponent always removes an empty box.
Both sides of the argument can be argued logically. Not sure which I prefer.
