I Hope Thats True

We should nearly always be looking to bring in players that have a sell on value-OK, thats not guaranteed, but a very high chance of having that-look at the profit Palace have made, for example on Fitz Hall, we baulked at paying ?800'000 or whatever it was for him at the time he left Oldham, now Palace have sold him, what, a year on, for ?3 million!

Yet we bring in players like Peter Thorne who are going to lose value and swiftly on day 1, and, unless they immediately provide the goals to help get us promoted, are a drain on the clubs finances.

Ditto players we are linked with, most, if not all, seem to be of that ilk, no sell on value, no investment, just more money down the drain. Same with the loans-look back at some of those from last season, was there any point to them at all, really? Certainly not financially.

As I have already said, you can't guarantee success if you invest and look to bring in players that will bring in money in the future (though we did in the past, list them if you will, ditto those that came through the youth policy) but you are guaranteeing nothing but financial hardship if you waste it away on players with no on-going value or investment potential or loanees. No wonder we're up s**t creek-AGAIN-its all been spunked away-AGAIN-without there being much chance of much coming back in again, Ashton being the aberration of an exception to this dreary rule of NCFC.
