Not far off the mark though

Lydon seems to hate MacLaren because he was about commercialism, but it doesn't seem to me that there was much more than that to the Pistols. They had a short career, and even within that there's an awful lot of dross alongside the few classic tracks. Whereas the Clash just turned out classic after classic. And I preferred the Stranglers to the Pistols. And their last album was a belter too.
