And his teammates in general aren't as good as the really big teams and therefore he doesn't have as many chances in those games.

It's not like he's a dribbler who will take on 12 players and score a wonder goal. He needs the ball put in the right areas and if the opposition is stopping that from happening he can't do anything about that.
