If the profit idea is based on selling back to the grid be wary

You can’t sell back to the grid without a meter that allows you to do that (usually a smart meter) and those are very difficult to have installed. I gave up in Scotland and went battery instead (so that I store surplus and then use it rather than sell it). We were told (after going through the expense of getting a micro generation certificate of course 🙄) that the grid can’t really cope with millions of micro generation inputs and so they just make it really difficult for you to get the meter.

But I am in no way discouraging you from going heat pump/PV/battery. We did it in the Highlands and electricity bills went from about £800-900 a month to about £200 a month. Mind you we did lash out a huge capital sum but I try not to think about that.
