You're right, but where would you have got the money from to sign a CM?

The only place it could come from is by not signing brooks and going for two £5m players (or whatever it would be). That's a risky strategy too. So I can see why Knapper and PC decided to give Kenny a new contract and sign field while getting Brooks in, a very low risk signing.

The real problem in our recruitment has been pissing money up the wall on Crnac, Kvistgaarden and Jurasek. Maybe harsh to say we've wasted money on Crnac and Kvistgaarden, but right now, it feels like we'd be better off if we'd just kept Idah than we are with the pair of them, which is saying something.

The issue isn't really Crnac or Kvistgaarden though, it's that they are players that don't suit the way Clement wants to play, and that's really frustrating. If instead of the pair of them we just had one striker PC actually would use, we'd probably have had enough money for a new CM this summer.
