There is a certain logic to it. The board have decided - in the face of all the evidence and arguments - to retain the manager. He can only play one way - and Howard fits that scheme - my own preference is for him to be sacked - but if we can'y have that then if he is at least buy players that fit our playing scheme then that is progress. I think it is better to spend money on players who are limited - but at least fit in and can do what we need - rather than more talented players (Bentley for example) who will always be disappointments because the manager cannot adjust his tactics to suit them.
