Who could possibly have seen that coming!

There’s a media storm so they chuck the ref under the bus. Happens every single time now with these. Yet with your Rutter’s and Watmore’s etc which look worse but didn’t generate such a media backlash, just silence about it.

They can’t pick and choose the incidents where ‘football expects’ the goal to be disallowed based on the reaction to an incident. They could easily have changed the protocol years ago after the Boro one to say controlling it would be penalised. Did they? 🥴

Funnily enough Roy Keane and others in the media agreed this was fine to stand even though he played basketball to control it 🤷‍♂️
