I have already posted about this but my feeling is....

it will keep more managers in a job..... longer anyway.
I expect the avg tenure length to increase among top half clubs.

If a manager finishes 7th or 8th but doesn't progress in the playoffs, he may be given another season as they hit a goal and just fell short.
It gives more clubs the illusion of winning something (a playoff spot)
And to be fair it will lessen the chance of meaningless games where players are already on the beach. Which has to be good for the fairness of the league.
