As an armchair fan you don't care, but here goes

We are told there is too much football - but let's have more football matches

We know that football clubs are beginning to find the boundaries of what fans will pay to attend matches - but let's add another [probably premium-priced event] to the season

It will be two more late-notice matches, at inconvenient times, for away fans to have to make travel arrangements.

The fact that so many fans do not think this is a good idea should be a reflection of the sense of it.
