We need to talk about Vlad

He is one of the few players in the squad who has shown little or no improvement during PC’s tenure. His ability to deal with high crosses and long range shots is problematic. His default style of punching or parrying rather than catching will continue to cause us problems.

At the time I thought the internal promotion of Declan Rudd to first team goalkeeping coach was strange. There’s a big difference between mentoring young keepers who dote on your every word and trying to change the default style of someone as bats**t crazy as Vlad. Not sure Declan has the experience, personality and gravitas to pull that off. Maybe the club has recognised that as they’ve brought in an another goalkeeping coach to share responsibility.

I presume that Grimshaw will be given the gloves for the cup game and now deserves a longer run in the team.
