That might be true

It just still feels strange to me that in a business of this size, where football is the product, such a huge decision might ultimately rest with people whose day to day job isn’t in the technical side of the club.

In most industries you’d expect the biggest calls to be driven by subject experts, not by people a step removed from the departmental function. That’s what nags at me here and speaks the most to the a bad situation we find ourselves.
