it's misty eyed nostalgia for something that never happened

someone on xitter wrote about a phrase in japanese that is "natsukashii" - nostalgia or happiness for a part memory.

brexit and trump and reform have all tapped into this *remember when!* nostalgia trope, everyone thinks the past was better and they play into that heavily.

make america great again, take back control... yawn. why not give the kids a say, we've made a right old c**t of it.

thing is reform will probably snag most of the 16-18 vote by pledging to bring the school leaving age down
