The squad we had last term was certainly capable of playoffs

When we played well we were excellent going forward albeit s**t at the back.

I took last season as a transition, accepting there'd be experimentation, maybe with systems certainly with players, and JHT would learn as he went as would the players. From the first couple of months I don't see why we wouldn't have been able to do that and still at least challenge for top six.

Finishing seventh or eighth having given it a good go and learning a lot on the way is one thing. Fizzling like we did is quite another and what turned me from "stick to the plan" to "just get rid", probably around Feb/early March or so.

I agree with others that we're most likely to keep Sarge and that Sainz and Nunez are likely offski. We need to replace intelligently and also add something this window. Signing Wright is a good sign and if he can keep off the treatment table Dobbin would be another good step; though we have a track record of signing sicknotes then being surprised when they get crocked.
