I do feel that there seems to be some massive communication breakdown along the way. Perhaps it's a simple as them seeing three-year plans as meaning season one was 'experimental' and the directors seeing it as 'playoffs at a minimum' but to my amateur eyes, I'm not sure that the right hand and left hands were working in harmony.
