a day after portugal stated they are very likely to pull the plug on a usd 5.5bn deal with the usa, canada have cast doubts on whether they will carry on and commit to a further 13.2bn usd deal given the instability in the us administation.

talks have been held between canada and sweden to purchase replacement fast jets from saab who build the gripen fighter jet. sweden have stated they are prepared to share intellectual rights with canada unlike the us dept of defence and their f35 program. sweden also stated that they are willing to assemble some of these aircraft in canada.

unlike portugal who had only made an expression of interest to purchase f35s canada face hefty financial penalties for breach of contract but it may be a pill they are willing to swallow.

of course all this f**kwittery spewing out from the usa now casts a shadow over the liklihood of the 2026 world cup taking place in canada/usa/mexico given that the orange w**kspangler has declared that he intends to invade canada and mexico.

it could be moved elsewhere, or it may not happen at all if the insane 💩 show in the whitehouse gathers pace.
