‘I don’t think there has been, at the moment, universal acceptance that VAR is the panacea for all ills’. Never been the case that it should be

But I agree it’s not needed in the football league when the stakes are much lower and it’s more about fun and taking part. Not surprising to hear champ fans don’t massively want it when I, one of the biggest VAR fans in the world, doesn’t think it’s necessary.
