last time we were up. "Soulless" is exactly the word I used at the time. Yes they were better at getting the round thing in the netty thing than we were. But honestly it was boring to watch.

Top-tier footy just is all the other things you mention. You have to sell your soul. I'm all for change at our club - I've been Wagner out for some time and I'm pleased Attanasio is coming on board - but I'd never want us to be owned by a corrupt nation state/criminal/actual murderer in the way that most "top" clubs are.

Some of it is reflective of society in general: we've been appeasing the Saudis for decades (remember Death Of A Princess, Blair stopping a prosecution, all the rest of it) so Newcastle in a sense were only doing what was already being done by the country at large.

Fucking hateful, all of it.
