and that isn't East of the city.
Of course, anything *might* happen, but a major stadium development in the Colney area seems a tough sell.

Looking East, Salhouse station gets just 250 passengers per week. So any station on this line that served a football ground would either have to be much bigger or wouldn't be capable of dealing with matchday crowds.

The new money is coming from Americans, with American development experience. The whole sell on downtown developments is the ease of access & fan-convenience. If Norwich were playing at the Halvergate Marshes stadium this season I expect there would be more empty seats than at CR.
