The (nationalised) German railway system owns shares in our (privatised) railway system

So whenever you buy a train ticket, at least some of the money is going to reduce the fares of a German citizen when they buy their train ticket. We are all individually and personally subsidising our German friends' travel costs.

Which is very generous of us, really, isn't it?
