I think you're falling into the trap of taking it too seriously

and too literally.

If, historically, all pens are 0.75, and you have someone who is at 0.85 they are obviously a better than average penalty taker.

xG isn't meant to be *exact*, it's an average and merely an indicator of the quality of chances created.

You're acting as though it's got to be spot on in every instance, which is insane.
