I'd say if a maths bod worked out all the odds before the game

they'd have said a point would be a decent result.

But hindsight may show it wasn't. A more attacking mindset may have resulted in defeat, but would it also gave increased the chances of a win? So if it turns out they needed two wins it would have been the wrong call. Or would it have made any difference, because the chances of a win by 'going for it' were so small?
