While I take your point, the way to address the front line shortage will ultimately

be more money.
We need to stop the talent drain abroad, and make the sector appealing again by paying a wage that reflects the complexity and importance of all roles.
That needs to include more provision and funding for the initial training as you mentioned.

The IT is a joke, but the fraction of care into so many CCG's and the amount of private providers etc means the obvious universal system is now impossible.

Setting aside govt (all types) record on big IT projects as well!
