The trouble is Kenny can do it really well sometimes

He did it brilliantly at Preston and Cov and also at Millwall he was very good.

So he can do it.

But then for every briliant game he has there he will also have an absolutely awful one where he gets caught out of position or inexplicably just passes the ball straigt to the opposition 3 or 4 times. Like Wigan or Sunderland.
