I agree, its as much about the midfield as the defence

And the lack of midfielders showing for the ball in some games is a problem. The opposition know it and go man for man on them but rather than adjust we keep trying to play the same ball.

I also think Hanley and Gibson are playing a few more square passes than they used to and thus moving the ball out slower which allows the opposition to close down the passing options.

I don't think anyone wants us just to lump it. There is nothing wrong with playing it out per se, they just need to move it quicker and adapt a bit when its clear the opposition are onto us.
