It’s possible that a Jamal Lewis type would never have been developed and given a chance. He’s not exactly tearing it up at Newcastle.

How many other top players didn’t make it just because they weren’t given excellent coaching at a critical time in their career.

Farke was excellent at developing young players and Webber instrumental in having a more professional academy.

McNally certainly deserves credit for Godfrey and Lewis etc but he still wasted plenty on the likes of RvW and Naismith just like Webber may have done with Rashica et .

Even Maddison was going nowhere under Alex Neil.
