Sunderland fans thought the ref was **** and favoured us.

Impossible job to be a ref I'm afraid - every set of fans will see him/her as biased against their team.

For what it's worth I think there will be a lot worse refs to come this season. Had VAR been in action
the Byram pullback would have been given as a penalty buy I suspect Josh's one would not. Do think he went down a tad too easily and could have stayed on his feet if he really wanted.
