It sounds like he spoke loosely during an interview and certainly did not intend to link a certain two things together. And as soon as he realised (was told) his ambiguously worded statement had been inferred in a highly regrettable way, came straight out and said didn’t mean that a all, sorry!

Bit of a storm in a teacup? Not sure it’s worth the vitriol some politicians are sending in his direction?
