and don't sign them solely based on stats from two seasons ago in an inferior league. It was pretty clear the first time he played for us, that he wasn't what we needed to compete at this level.

Scouting department should really be sacked for their performance over the past three seasons. Whatever stat based approach they are using clearly doesn't work for the Premier League.
