I agree. Most (except Sargent) are decent enough players but

There was no strategic vision in terms of how to put them together as a team. If you sign Gilmour then you need a couple of units to play alongside him and do the heavy lifting,

Why make our two main attacking signings left wingers when Todd was already playing there?

why use a loan slot on Williams when we have two good full backs, one of whom now can’t get a gsme despite the fact they are better because we’ve obviously promised Man U that Williams gets game time?

Why no pace up front?

As has been said many times we needed maybe 3 or 4 quality additions with the first snd main priority being a really physically strong and athletic midfielder.

It was a complete failure of planning and strategic thinking.
