I think the beast is awake, and smells blood

People have been swearing at Hughes' inability all season - finally, it spilled over into just plain swearing at Hughes.

Although I wasn't at the game and am probably not in a position to comment, on the radio it sounded like fans were still supporting individual players - Gallacher, passes from Shackell and Drury, etc - but the primal howl when Hughes was on the ball was something the likes of which I have never heard before.

I'm going on Sunday - more out of curiosity than anything - but it will be very interesting to see how the mob behaves. I think we can guarantee a small section baying for Hughes' blood from the first whistle, but I would like to think the majority will wait and see. Should he have another QPR-like brain-melt, I don't expect any quarter, though.
