But as you say, not really the true and consistent quality of those teams. I also (and I know others disagree) think Southgate is a limiting factor- maybe it's with him I have a problem - I know he's a nice chap and all that, but he does seem a bit john major-ish - I know that it's probably wrong, but I always feel like he'd be happy to get through a few games and be liked for saying the right things.
