Does anyone on here know much about phone scams?
A couple of weeks ago, I got 6 calls in the space of 2 days from a dodgy scam (HMRC investigation, I think). The callers number was different each time, however the first 8 digits were always the same and identical to the first 8 digits of my number.
It seemed to have stopped, however just now I've had a call from another similar number (again, the first 8 digits the same as mine)...this time it was what sounded like a genuine young lad saying he'd just had a missed call from my number, however I've not called anyone.
Is this just another trick in the scammers book and best left ignored, or do I have a genuine issue now with using my number?
