I think Bosman tried that on and failed.

Anyway why would he pay his future salary which he wouldn’t receive? Or are you suggesting that they would have to continue to pay him? If so what sense would that make and if not, he’s essentially buying himself for a fraction of his price then giving the rights to another club.
