Does anyone know the rules on whether a 28 year old can buy himself out of his contract after the initial 2 year protected period? Is it more complicated than Harry paying a sum equivalent to the salary he would receive in his 3 remaining contacted years to Spurs and becoming a free agent?

Reported to be on 10m per year. Pay 30-40 million to Spurs then join new club with 100m signing fee, pocketing 60m while making hand gestures at Levy?

He is reported as saying he will decide his future not Levy. That doesn't make sense unless he thinks he can exit his contract for less than he is worth?
